Physical Therapy Aide

Assist in the patients care prevised by the Physical Therapist to maintain a smooth flow of activities in the office. Guide patients through exercise prescribed by the Physical Therapist, help with putting patients on ice, and preparing treatment table and laundry for patients. Assist in checking in patients and ensuring their chart is ready for the Physical Therapist.

Training:

The student will receive initial General employer orientation, training with Physical Therapist on how to assist with patients with ice or exercises, and job shadowing of the Physical Therapist while with patients.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to work with patients in a professional setting, be able to read charts notes from the treatment, and ability to demonstrate exercises to patients. The student will understand the typical flow of a clinic with hands on experience.
