Opportunity Summary 

  • MENTOR youth (grades K-12) through positive speech, positive attitudes and positive modeling
  • HELP youth academically in our Power Hour - an hour dedicated to homework and academic assistance
  • CREATE a program with the Program Director's assistance that can be implemented to the Club Members after coaching sessions (both formal and informal) and program meetings
  • DEVELOP a team-orientated environment with the other Youth Development Professionals while working with them in their areas and in their programs 

Tasks:

The intern will demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes by:
- DEVELOPING an adult connections with the youth through one-on-one mentorship moments or group settings
- CREATING a program through planning (assisted by the Program Director) and implementation of the program

Training:

To help the student achieve the learning outcomes, I will:
- Both informal and formal coaching on a weekly basis to answer day-to-day questions or concerns
- Weekly to bi-weekly meetings to go over intern expectations, goals and programming
- Open lines of communication via email or \\office hours\\ if intern needs additional assistance

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the internship, the student will be able to:
- MENTOR successfully youths in both individual and group settings
- IMPLEMENT a program based on the student's strengths and goals that will impact the Club Members positively
