Business Communications InternAt — Christus Ministries
This intern will be responsible for using their business knowledge and skills to help the Christus Ministries nonprofit organization further its mission through business communication, campaign proposals, engagement strategies, business assessments and evaluations for further growth, and other appropriate projects.
Analyze program evaluation and feedback data available and use it to help convey the mission of the organization
Survey and interview young adults to help communicate needs of community
Propose fundraising strategies and campaign ideas
Learn collaboration techniques and strategies with team members, partner organizations, and community stakeholders
Assess and evaluate organizational processes and propose strategic business plan forward for future growth
Help with communication materials and branding opportunities
Evaluate and offer suggestions for social media communication and processes
Training:
Initial orientation reviewing business processes, nonprofit mission and values, and collaboration proceedings
Regular meetings with team members to review progress and provide mentorship
Regular debriefing on various events with community members and team members
Weekly feedback on various projects and tasks
Regular mentorship reviewing background processes of events, business strategies, and communicate to all stakeholders
Learning Outcomes:
1. By the end of the internship, the student will be able to understand the various ways in which a small nonprofit organization collaborates internally as a team, externally with partners and its community members, and through both in-person and online engagement.
2. By the end of the internship, the student will be able to understand business strategies that help communicate the story of transformation of community members in the organization.
3. By the end of the internship, the student will be able to work on various business processes and strategies to further grow the organization and best communicate its mission to all stakeholders.
