In charge of a group of 20 + students and provide homework support, lead outside play activities and also create enrichment activities to complete with the students on day to day basis.
The tasks will include checking in students, providing homework support, creating lesson plans, leading enrichment and physical activities with students. Maintaining classroom management and creating positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
Training:
The student will be provided orientation prior to beginning reviewing policies and emergency procedures. We will have consistent and frequent staff meetings to review and coach on areas that need support. There will also be regular weekly meeting to review progress and provide mentorship.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to effectively lead a group of students by supporting with homework, organizing physical play and creating/designing enrichment activities for students.
The student will also be able display leadership and communication skills creating positive and supportive connections with students.
Also, the student will be able to have classroom management and reinforce expectations.
