Housing Office- City of Monterey

Program Information

General Description of what students will be doing at this Site: This internship is a unique opportunity for a CSUMB student to gain hands-on experience of how the local government works and its impact on the community.

The Housing Office recognizes that the CSUMB students will have their own research interest, which is why it is important to note that this internship will expose the students to policy making and analysis as well as how the community needs are addressed and met.

The skills and experience gained from this internship will be transferable and will allow the student to succeed wherever they choose to work next, whether that is for the federal government, nonprofit or private sector.

The Housing staff is committed to help you succeed and will provide you the opportunity to customize your internship experience. For example, in addition to the internship duties assigned to you, you may create and implement your own unique research project which you may use to write a thesis or research paper on. This will be subject to an approval from the Department Head and Supervisor.
