Opportunity Summary 

The Diversity Center Provides High Quality, LGBTQ+ affirming Mental Health Services to Youth, Family Members, Adults, Seniors, & LGBTQ+ Residents of Santa Cruz County. Mental wellbeing services include individual counseling, relational counseling, family counseling, group counseling and case management. Our approach is strength-based and trauma-informed, engaging one’s self-agency, resiliency and natural- and chosen-family supports whenever possible. We are expanding services in Watsonville and seek bilingual English-Spanish students to support parents and families with affirming parenting and support to their LGBTQIA+ children.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Best practices regarding offering affirming gender and LGBTQIA+ counseling to individuals and loved ones, as well as offer education and support to enhance family acceptance and emotional resilience.

Opportunity Training 

TDC's staff will provide orientation and ongoing trainings for the mental health program, including core education on offering affirming mental health care to the LGBTQIA+ population. Additional program staff will train on our program offerings and curriculum design template.
