1. The student may work alone on weekends or at night (between 6 pm and 6 am). Other than that, there's always someone available in the lab who may not supervise directly but can always check the student. 2. It could be less than 1% or a maximum of 1% of the entire internship duration. 3. Once trained and comfortable working alone, the student might need to come onsite alone to receive samples from the manufacturing facility or sample/monitor the cell culture in the lab. Area operating procedures are available. This is minimal; other than that, there's always someone available in the lab who may not supervise directly but can always check the student.
