Opportunity Summary 

As the Lead Kindergarten Teacher Intern, you will focus on directly working with Prekindergarteners and Kindergarteners on their emotional regulation skills and their Desired Results Development Profile (DRDP). You will also focus on building stronger relationships with their families by interviewing them about their traditions and holidays and creating newsletters. 

Tasks:

-collect anecdotal notes and observation notes
-input child folio documentation
-Complete DRDP &DRDP-k
-Create weekly/biweekly newsletter
-find and test different kinds of emotional regulation methods
-Interview parents to gather more information to make sure we are being as inclusive as we can for all families

Training:

The intern will be trained by the following:
-Shadowing multiple kindergartener teachers
-Weekly schedule one-on-one on fridays
-DRDP online training
-DRDP-K Online training
-completing DRDPS &DRDP-ks
-Inclusion trainings
-Interviewing families on traditions
-Effective communication
-Intro to newsletters

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student can complete the following:

- DRDP assessments on Kindergarteners with the DRDP-K
-Use and teach Different strategies for Kindergarteners to regulate their emotional skills
-Communicate effectively with parents through newsletters and emails
-learn how to create a more inclusive center through the use of interviewing families on their traditions and holidays
