Opportunity Summary 

Assistant Property Managers will be trained to help prepare for board meetings, keep up with ongoing protects at associations, assist managers in gathering proposals, corresponding with clients through phone and email, etc. 

Tasks
The intern will be able to prepare a board packet and budget on their own, read financial reports and write delinquent letters based off those reports, professionally correspond with vendors, homeowners and other employees, etc.

Training
The intern will be given a general orientation of the office space, what is expected of them, and introductions to other employees. Weekly one-on-one meetings will be held with the interns supervisor to go over what they've been working on, if the intern needs any additional support, clarification on any assignments they have, etc. Shadowing managers at meetings, given examples of violation and delinquent letters, shown how to read and find financial reports, etc. Shadow property managers at board meetings to see how they are run and prepare minutes.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, the student will be able to prepare board packets and budgets which will be proposed at board meetings. Correspond with homeowners, vendors and board members. Gather proposals/estimates for upcoming projects at associations. Understand financial reports both for the association and individual homeowner accounts. Be able to write and mail out violations and delinquent letters to homeowners. Understand how a HOA board meeting is run.
