Child Care AssistantAt — City of Moreno Valley A Child's Place

Under the direction of the lead Child Care Instructor or Child Care Site Supervisor, plan and participate in the care, instruction, and supervision of school-age children; assist in the day-to-day operation of the child care and development center; and perform related work as required.

As a Child Care Assistant, she will be helping me create curricular activities that we will both be guiding the students to complete. She will also assist students with homework, bathroom breaks, preparing snacks, guiding students during challenging behaviors/breakdowns, communicating with parents, and helping me complete observation assessments (such as DRDPs and SACERS)

Training:

There are many different training and webinars. The student will become a mandated reporter, get CPR/first aid certified, food handlers license, staff meetings, attend challenging behavioral children webinars, have effective consequences for the student's webinar, and more to be announced.

Learning Outcomes:

The student will be able to learn how to help children with behavioral and emotional challenges. The student will also be able to get the experience of what we look out for as a mandated reporter. Lastly, they will also be able to get experience in how to measure/assess a school-age student in their developmental stages.
