Opportunity Summary 

The Youth Development Professional plans, implements, supervises and evaluates youth activities provided in specific Boys & Girls Clubs program areas, such as Education & Career Development, The Arts, Sports Fitness & Recreation, Health & Life Skills, Character & Leadership, Development or Specialized Initiatives.

Tasks:

Interns will not be left alone with children.

Plan Activities
Supervise youth in grades k-3rd or 4th-6th grade
planning education based activities, fun with a purpose (ARTs, STEM, HEALTH, SPORTS, Fun Friday.
Help with homework/Tutoring for the first hour
2/3 hrs per day.
Working with kinder - 3rd grade group with a staff member.

Training:

Each student will work one-on-one with our Operation Manager and Youth development professional. Once a week on Monday (team huddle) plan for the week. Check in on Wednesday. Intern can ask question any time.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to create, plan and implement youth activities.
