The individual in this position works under the supervision of the teacher and the RHS management. This position is responsible for teaching and or assisting a teacher in the general supervision and management of a group of children. The person selected for this position must be professionally prepared as a teacher. This person must be a mature individual who is able to relate and communicate well with children and adults. The person selected for this position must be at least eighteen years old. This person must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the school’s educational philosophy.
Tasks:
This position is responsible for teaching and or assisting a teacher in the general supervision and management of a group of children.
preschool teaching, circle time, creating lesson plans. implementing lesson plan, teaching science and language arts.
Training:
Active supervision
How to conduct circle time
How to do head count throughout the day
How to communicate with management and parents
Hands on training, no check in, training on school policies how to interact with parents, teacher. They are buddy with a teacher and 2-3 weeks will shadow them and be active with them. Hands on training. Active supervision meetings how to write incident reports and how to avoid incidents. Onboarding orientations.
Intern might be left alone with children, for a few minutes because (Hal said) \\they are fully qualified to be alone with children\\. They are looking at them as a fully qualitied teacher either paid or unpaid.
Learning Outcome:
At the end of this internship he or she will be able to do classroom management proper health and safety of the children, know how to assess in different areas of growth and development, such as writing anecdotal creating portfolio, know about our methodology and creating lesson plans.
