• Assisting with dental procedures.

Assist in suctioning of saliva.

Setting up and sterilizing the operatory for each patient.

Reading and interpreting what the xrays mean with the dentist.

Training:

The student will observe and assist the dentist during the dental procedures.

The student will help set up and learn the tools and instruments needed.

The student will discuss the each week's experience with the dentist at the end of every week.

Learning Outcomes:

Learn about the oral cavity (teeth, gums, etc)

Be able to diagnose tooth cavities and plaque build up and their causes.

Know proper brushing and flossing techniques.
