Organization Description

At the Community FoodBank of San Benito, we focus on providing fresh, nutritious food, with 80% of our offerings being fresh produce, much of it organic. We serve over 6,000 people monthly, delivering throughout the Hollister area and welcoming community members to our Marketplace every Friday and Saturday.

Program Information

Are you passionate about making a difference in the community while building your skills in social media, event planning, and marketing? At the Community FoodBank of San Benito, we’re offering an internship where you’ll help shape our social media campaigns, assist in coordinating community events, and even support our grant initiatives. It’s a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience, boost your resume, and make an impact on thousands of lives. Plus, you'll be part of a dynamic team working to fight hunger and nourish our community.

By the end of this opportunity, students will have learned...

How to design and implement social media campaigns to engage and grow a nonprofit's audience.
Hands-on experience in organizing and promoting community events.
Exposure to the grant research and writing process, including how nonprofits secure funding.
Skills in building relationships with local partners and engaging with community members.
An understanding of how a nonprofit functions, including marketing, outreach, and program development.

Students at the Community FoodBank of San Benito will engage in hands-on activities focused on community outreach, marketing, and event planning while supporting efforts to alleviate food insecurity. They will gain practical experience in a dynamic nonprofit environment.

Create and post content, monitor engagement.
Assist with organizing and executing community events.
Support research and documentation for grant proposals.
Promote services and engage with local residents and partners.
Help maintain records and manage communications.
