Program Support InternAt — Hope Women's Center
This position is a support capacity to our center team. They will assist Center Manager with daily program support as needed, gaining experience in client intakes, crisis help, teaching classes, administrative needs, and children’s program.
Complete standard Hope Women's Center Training for position
Create 4-12 weeks of curriculum
Be able to take client attendance, manage client points, and complete client intake process
Spend minimum of 2 hours a week in child care, student will never be left alone in childcare room.
Complete review of Community Resource Binder and provide overview of top categories per geographical area in AZ
List similarities and differences between Hope clients that are seen in the physical center vs \\on the road\\
Training:
Meet weekly with the student to review goals and outcomes, answer questions, and provide relevant education
Provide in depth orientation via in-person meetings, online trainings, and hands on learning for physical centers and \\on the road\\
Provide outline and class curriculum as model for her own class
Provide opportunities for child care experience
Facilitate learning of administrative tasks and check for competence
Learning Outcomes:
Engage with clients in an empathetic manner
Triage client needs during intakes and meetings in both physical centers and \\on the road\\
Write and deliver curriculum that is relevant to our client population
Engage with children in children's program, providing care as needed
Understand and undertake administrative tasks
I will meet weekly with the student to guide learning and progress in addition to reviewing all deliverables. I also oversee individuals who the intern will be working with, and will guide them as well. I will always be accessible via email, text, and phone call as needed by the student.<\/p>
