OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY INTERNSHIPAt — Step-by-Step Pediatric Therapy, Inc.
The primary role is to assist occupational therapists, interact with patients, organize and sanitize clinic equipment, complete office related tasks, and execute various projects as assigned. Additional duties may be required. Interns will be supervised by licensed practitioners.
Volunteer/Intern should have previous experience working with children and either possess or be in process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Desire to become an occupational therapists is preferred.
**Must be a responsible, professional and hard-working individual who takes initiative. Must also enjoy working with children or helping others.
The intern will report to the Director of the Department, who is also an occupational therapist.
Responsibilities include setting up the play room before therapy sessions, assisting therapist during session and cleaning equipment after each use. Create ready-made art projects for therapists to use with patients. Routinely sanitize and organize equipment and facility. Execute projects assigned by Intern Manager within deadlines. May also assist occupational therapists with sessions in-home. Interns will be supervised by licensed practitioners
Training
-One day of training during orientation
-Shadowing primary occupational therapist twice a week.
-Observe during clinic hours and complete projects as assigned.
-Review library of resources on occupational therapy.
