INTERNSHIP IN HEALTHCARE AND PATIENT CARE

If you aspire to be in the medical field and are looking for hands-on opportunities in a clinical setting to gain clinical hours and experience, you may apply.

If you have a caring heart and aspire to be in the medical field, you will learn skills that will help you excel in this growing career. Many of our past interns moved on to becoming RN, PT, PA, and/or on the path to becoming an MD.

Our growing wellness center focuses on helping individuals perform at their very best by restoring their health to their optimum using holistic and exercise physiology approaches. We are looking for students in Physical Therapy, Health Science, or other healthcare-related majors who want hands-on experience to join our team and make a difference in patient care. 

Tasks including but not limited to:
1. Take and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, height, and weight.
2. Take and record patient history, progress, recommendation, prognosis, and treatment modalities.
3. Importance of bedside manner with different age and personality of patients.

The minimum requirement is a 6-month commitment with at least three 4-hour shifts per week.  The shift times are AM (9am-1pm) and/or PM (2pm-6pm).

Requirements:

1) Students provide their own scrubs

2) Familiar with the Internet, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Gmail

Learning Outcomes:

1. Easily identify anatomical positions and specific anatomy by practical learning in addition to studying.
2. Observe and conduct comprehensive health consultation and evaluation by asking appropriate questions and palpation.
3. Handle and deal with patient health ailments and learn options of rehabilitation.
4. Be able to take notes on patient follow up health status and use of different modality set up.
5. Be familiar with administrative aspects of a health / medical office.
