Strength & Conditioning InternAt — Cal Poly Pomona Strength & Conditioning
This internship is to provide the volunteer with practical and theoretical knowledge of the strength and conditioning profession. The core focus of the internship is for the volunteer to gain a valuable experience in all strength and conditioning areas and to develop fundamental coaching skills. Volunteers will learn how the body systems function in strength, speed, explosion, agility and conditioning.
The internship will consist of four categories: practical, administrative, educational, and facility maintenance. The practical portion will be the time on the training floor or field while working with the student-athletes. Volunteers will be under the supervision of a certified strength and conditioning professional when working with the student-athletes. The administration portion is time during the day without student-athlete interaction that the volunteer will learn about communication and interaction with athletics staff. The third component is educational; the volunteer will receive information about program design and exercise prescription. The last component is facility maintenance; this is the time during the day without student-athlete interaction that consists of maintaining a clean and functional facility. The volunteer will learn about the equipment and how to keep it functioning safely and efficiently.

Student must be able to be on their feet for periods of time and be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
