FYUP Academic Resiliency Internship At — CSUSM - Office of Undergraduate Studies, First-Year & University Programs

Opportunity Summary 

The Academic Resiliency intern will support the UNIV faculty coordinator and UNIV Peer Coaches in various capacities, but ultimately shows care to struggling students given their lived experience as a former struggling student and continuing member for the CSUSM campus community. This internship aims to provide professional development opportunities to former UNIV students and Peer Coaches who have an interest in fostering the aforementioned values as they relate to education, teaching, human development/relations, counseling, coaching, campus leadership, and/or student advocacy.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

This internship offers new learning experiences for students interested in education, human development, social work, leadership, and advocacy. Students will work closely with our UNIV Faculty Coordinator to provide ongoing support for our UNIV Peer Coaching Team – co-teaching our 1-unit UNIV Peer Coaching course, offering guidance to new UNIV Peer Coaches, and assuming minor administrative responsibilities related to our UNIV Peer Coach Program.

Opportunity Training 

Interns will be working side-by-side with our Academic Resiliency Faculty Coordinator to complete tasks associated with the internship. Interns will receive real-time instruction and support in completing internship tasks.
