Coyne & Associates

Organization Description

Coyne & Associates is a private Company that provides ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) services with children diagnosed with ASD.

Health & Safety

All Coyne staff work with children under the age of 12 with ASD.

Working as an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapist for a young child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can be highly rewarding, but it also comes with several risks. One key challenge is the emotional and physical demands of the job. ABA therapy often requires repetitive, intense sessions that can lead to therapist burnout, especially if adequate self-care and support are not in place. Additionally, the child may display behaviors such as tantrums, aggression, or self-injury, which can put the therapist at risk for injury or emotional stress. There is also the risk of ethical concerns if therapies are not appropriately individualized or if the child's progress is not properly monitored, leading to ineffective or even harmful interventions. Finally, the need for ongoing professional development and supervision is critical to avoid misapplication of techniques and to ensure the best outcomes for the child.
