Programming/Web/Cloud Development Intern - HybridAt — Freightgate

Work with our core software development team to improve existing applications and assist with the development of new techniques for our next-generation solutions. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Planning, Development, Customer Support, Creation of Test Cases and Writing of Specifications. You’ll get real-world experience being an intern on our team.

We are looking for interns in the following categories:
1. Test Automation
2. Business Process Model & Notation
3. Data Science Analytics

Desirable Skills: Be able to utilize UML, Web-Design/HTML, Interested in Web 2.0, Web-Based Applications, Proficient with Unix Systems, Perl Programming Experience, SQL-Databases, Sencha Framework, and Microsoft Office

Looking for Summer or Fall intern. Students will be able to apply technical skills to real world situations. Goals will be to apply software knowledge, learning how to work in a team setting to resolve issues, and learn further software applications. You'll also be able to get regular feedback on your performance and get coached through any hurls that may come.

Hybrid Learning Experience:

1. Intern must have access to internet and computer that is programming-capable
2. Intern will communicate with supervisor using Slack, Zoom, email
3. Intern will participate in daily 9:00 am stand-up meetings (attend at least 2-3/week) via Zoom
4. Supervisor will provide orientation, ongoing training, and regular feedback sessions

Working with intern or staff members to plan, organize, and development ideas. Get real experience talking to customers. Some hands on work with software such as (training will be provided if student is not knowledgeable): UML, Web-Design/HTML, Interested in Web 2.0, Web-Based Applications, Proficient with Unix Systems, Perl Programming Experience, SQL-Databases, Sencha Framework, and Microsoft Office

Training:

Student will train on a variety of different software programs and on how to work with others to develop, organize and implement ideas. Supervisor will help intern set goals and budget time. Supervisor will assist intern to work with existing and new customers to evaluate consumer needs.

Learning Outcomes:

Student should be aware of how to solve problems, know how to work well as a team, learn soft skills such as critical thinking, communication and writing.
