Occupational Therapy Intern - Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter 2025At — California Rehabilitation and Sports Therapy/California Hand Therapy - Anaheim, CA
Seeking interns in an outpatient occupational hand therapy setting. Looking for a great opportunity to gain further knowledge of the occupational therapy profession? We provide an environment conducive to learning and fostering prospective occupational therapy students in their progression towards graduate school.
Individuals will be asked to assist in streamlining patient intake, perform set up for hot pack and cold pack modalities, assist in the set up of therapeutic exercises and assist in the cleanliness and maintenance of the clinic under the supervision of the occupational therapist. Semi-professional attire is highly recommended.
1. Work together in unison with occupational/physical therapy rehabilitation team to streamline patient intake and facilitate a welcoming environment to clientele.
2. Set up hot pack/cold pack modalities, set up/cleanup of therapeutic exercises/activities under the supervision of the occupational therapist.
3. Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the clinic alongside occupational therapy rehabilitation team.
Training:
Interns will be educated and trained by the occupational therapist and occupational therapy aide on gaining an understanding of the clinic practices. On their first week of training, interns will undergo an overview of responsibilities, tasks, and an overall introduction to the clinic environment. Interns will be guided of their responsibilities and tasks throughout the duration of their internship. Over the course of the internship, interns will be provided with further insight on the inner workings of the occupational therapy profession.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Students will gain exposure and a better understanding of the occupational hand therapy setting.
2. Students will gain a better understanding of the evaluation, treatment and discharge process in the occupational therapy setting.
3. Students will gain exposure to a multitude of diagnoses and therapeutic modalities specific to the occupational hand therapy setting.
