Training
When approved by our team for the internship, students will receive a digital handbook to give them a closer look inside the company and how it operates. The handbook will include a detailed outline of each task interns will work on throughout the semester with samples and more. A follow up call will be arranged with a brief walk-through for the student to ask the supervisor/mentor and any additional questions.
Once the student is familiarized with the tasks, he/she will go through a est run\\ for tasks a-g to see where the student performs the best. He/she will attend one event (red carpet, junket, shoot, and/or conference call interview) with an on-staff employee to shadow interviewing, social reporting, and/or other production needs, participate in test writing which will let the student write/edit up to three mock features (done remotely), and create a mock social media plan on how to distribute content on each platform.
Once test run is complete, the supervisor/mentor and on-staff team will work with the student throughout the internship on each task. Each week, the student will be required to participate in a conference call with the mentor/supervisor and other staff members to help coordinate their schedule/assignments for that week, as well as discuss the student's progress/growth and answer any additional questions the student may have.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:
1. professionally conduct interviews with not only celebrities, but any person they may come in contact with for a digital or editorial production.
2. know how to network with other professionals in the field for future opportunities with contacts made at Celeb Secrets.
3. find their voice as a writer, editor, or producer by learning their strengths/weaknesses and focusing on perfecting them.
4. work in fast-paced environments with quick turnaround times.
5. identify social media trends and use proper business tools for platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to grow social following/engagement.
If a student is working alone at night, it will be remote. Due to the nature of the news cycle, they may have to report virtually if an assignment happens during these hours (i.e. a Zoom junket and/or a televised event or award show).

If the student will be working between the hours of 6pm and 8am, it will be at an event that our team assigns the intern to. These events include red carpets, live tapings, networking events, etc that will be featured on the company's website. Intern will always be accompanied by another team member and events go no longer than four hours.

Parking is usually provided by the host of the event. This includes event valet, passes for structured and lot parking adjacent to the event, reserved street parking, ride share vouchers, etc.

Additionally, if the student chooses to take on hours in the evening on days with no events to meet their required hours, student will be working remotely either in their home or on campus.
