Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and motivated Computer Vision Engineer Intern to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in digital health, focusing on real-time pose estimation and advanced analytics to improve patient outcomes. As an intern, you will work closely with our engineering and clinical teams to enhance the capabilities of our virtual physical therapy platform.
Responsibilities
- Develop, train, and evaluate custom pose estimation models to assess patient movements and exercise performance.
- Design and optimize algorithms for real-time performance on mobile and web platforms, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and clinicians, to refine models for use in physical therapy applications.
- Preprocess and annotate datasets to improve model performance, ensuring the models are robust and reliable.
- Conduct usability testing of the platform, analyzing feedback to enhance user experience for patients and physical therapists.
- Research and implement the latest advancements in computer vision and machine learning to improve the platform’s capabilities.
- Debug and troubleshoot technical issues related to pose estimation and system integration.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of computer vision concepts, particularly pose estimation and human movement analysis.
- Proficiency with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools.
- Advanced programming skills in Python and experience with libraries like OpenCV.
- Familiarity with real-time processing and optimization techniques for deployment on mobile or web platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to tasks.
- Passion for digital health and using technology to improve patient outcomes.
Location and Work Environment
This internship is flexible, with a hybrid work environment. In-person collaboration will be required at our Santa Monica office. Expy Health will provide all necessary tools and resources to support the intern's success in this role.
