The Computer Refurbishment tech works hands-on with donated computers, helping test, clean, image, and prepare systems for resale or distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Test, clean, and refurbish donated computers
  • Install operating systems and basic software
  • Label and organize refurbished equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Follow refurbishment procedures and guidelines

  • Install pre-fabricated materials or equipment (including assisting)
  • Sort donated goods (such as, food, clothing, electronics, household items)
Opportunity Training 

Training

Complete training will be provided on RFRB processes, burn-in procedures, and specific position duties to ensure work is performed with understanding and minimal errors.

Volunteers would be working specifically with our refurb manager and he would conduct basic training procedures.

To perform these responsibilities, the students will be placed with the program leads, who will mentor and guide them on how to perform the job. The training is hands-on and provides the opportunity for the students to make mistakes and learn from these mistakes without fear of being punished. Additional training will be provided when necessary.
