Behavior TechnicianAt — Active Steps, LLC
Behavior technicians are responsible for assisting behavior analysts to implement behavior reduction and skill acquisition treatment plans. The behavior technician will assist clients with day to day activities, monitor their behavior, record and collect data on client's progress, and communicate with clients. Other duties may include clerical and administrative duties.
To be successful in this role, you will display a compassionate nature, empathy, and discretion in your work. You should have excellent communication and time management skills, and be able to develop and maintain relationships with clients, supervisors, and colleagues. Prior experience in a behavioral health setting is advantageous.
Tasks
Alerting medical professionals to intervene in emergencies.
Maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
Collaborate, communicate, and assist with the training of clients, parents, and staff.
Run parent education goals if directed
Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients and family.
Submit Special Incident reports as needed
Communicate with clinical team if concerned about service environment
Provide direct care to clients in a one-on-one or group therapy setting to implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction treatments as directed by the supervisor.
Implement client specific strategies during session
Regularly Perform preference assessments for reinforcement
Implements client goals as directed by assessment plan and clinical team
Implements client Behavior Support plan as directed by assessment plan and clinical team
Collect and record data on client specific programs.
Collect and record data on client specific behaviors
Reporting to the assigned Clinical Supervisor and BCBA on each patient's progress and concerns.

Assigned BCBA will provide on going training each week during sessions and set up additional meetings with behavior technician as needed.
Ongoing support: Lead BT will provide two-week competency review, 30/60/90-day Evaluations with BCBA oversight
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs), accurately collect and record data, effectively manage challenging behaviors using evidence-based strategies, and maintain professional and ethical standards in interactions with clients, families, and supervisors.
Interns will have parking at assigned location that is well lit in a residential neighborhood or clinic in Garden Grove. Interns will have some sessions with supervision but not all.<\/p>
