Health InternAt — Synergy Ct Surgery Partnership
An opportunity for a student interested in the Physician Assistant career from a Cardiac Surgery team that coversRiverside Community Hospital, Temecula Valley Hospital, and San Antonio Regional Hospital.
The midlevels run the post-op clinic in which we manage medications, provide wound checks, and interpret post oplabs and imaging. The surgeons see the outpatient consults via zoom or in clinic and he can expect to join theirappointments if we are not in the OR. Average 1 day a week per provider - 3 clinic days a week - typically 6 post ops- about 3-4 hours. The student may also participate in completing prior authorizations, patient intake, and variousancillary tasks around the office.
Overall, the general structure we’ve used for other students is to work the same hours as the midlevels on - M-F, noweekends. We currently train new midlevels (3 in the last 3 years) and have an expected curriculum for them based on the PAresidencies completed. I can attach our teaching packet for new onboarding to provide more insight! We will plan toutilize a similar model for students.
