Ronald McDonald House Orange County's Academic Volunteer - Development & Events Internship involves first-hand experience within the Development Team.  This internship will assist the Development Manager and Events Coordinator with fundraising campaigns, growing community within the Happy Hugs recurring gift program, assisting with special events and various administrative tasks related to fundraising campaigns and projects.

Specific Job Duties to include:

Happy Hugs Ambassador

• Helping to actively recruit new members and Community Partners for our Happy Hugs Club – the charity’s monthly recurring gift program, through various events, tours, corporate presentations, etc.
• Serving as a House Tour Guide to educate visitors about the charity’s mission while actively promoting the Happy Hugs program.
• Researching businesses as potential new community partners in local cities and assigned Southern California counties.
• Helping to create unique strategies and campaigns for recruitment and retention.

 Event Support

• Assisting in Happy Hugs events (from pre to post event) to promote engagement and community among members and Community Partners.
• Learning the basics of event coordination by assisting Development Manager and Events Coordinator with event related tasks.
• Learning how to create and maintain a production schedule in relation to event management.

 Oral & Written Communication, Content Building and Desktop Publishing

• Assisting in writing and editing various copy and/or correspondences.
• Contributing to content creating, capturing and editing as needed.
• Designing various projects as needed and ensuring that they are in line with the RMHC brand using Canva, Photoshop and/or illustrator

Additional duties as assigned.
