About the Role

Are you passionate about social media and looking to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing and strategic campaign development? We’re seeking a PR, Social Media & Marketing Strategy Intern to help grow our online presence, engage with our audience, plan marketing campaigns, and optimize our strategies across various platforms. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of social media and marketing strategy in a fun and collaborative environment!

Responsibilities

  • Social Media Management

    • Learn how to Plan, create, and schedule posts for Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook
    • Learn to Write captions, design graphics, and edit short-form videos
    • Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and community interactions
    • Research trending content, hashtags, and industry news to enhance engagement
    • Learn how to track social media analytics and provide insights on performance

  • Marketing Campaign Strategy

    • Assist in planning, developing, and executing marketing campaigns
    • Conduct market research to identify audience trends and competitor strategies
    • Help create promotional strategies for product launches, events, and brand initiatives
    • Track and analyze campaign performance using data insights
    • Collaborate with different teams to align messaging and execution
    • Research industry trends and propose innovative marketing tactics

    Tasks
    Below is a list of hands-on duties that students will perform during the internship, each of which directly aligns with developing and demonstrating the targeted learning outcomes:

    Content Planning & Creation

    Develop and maintain a social media content calendar
    Draft post copy, design graphics, and edit short-form videos
    Apply market trends and research findings to create compelling content
    Platform Management & Engagement

    Schedule and publish posts on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook
    Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and community interactions
    Experiment with platform features (e.g., polls, stories, live streams) to increase engagement
    Marketing Campaign Support

    Assist in planning, executing, and analyzing specific marketing initiatives
    Contribute to brainstorming sessions for campaign themes, messaging, and branding
    Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, editorial) to align messaging
    Analytics & Reporting

    Track social media and campaign performance using Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, or similar tools
    Collect and interpret data to generate insights on audience behavior and campaign effectiveness
    Compile findings into weekly or monthly performance reports for supervisor review
    Research & Strategy

    Conduct competitor and audience research to identify emerging trends
    Draft suggestions for marketing strategies (e.g., influencer collaborations, platform-specific campaigns)
    Propose content improvements or new approaches based on ongoing research and feedback
    Presentation & Communication

    Present findings, recommendations, and creative ideas during team meetings
    Collaborate with supervisors and mentors on strategy adjustments and performance improvements
    Prepare and deliver short presentations or written summaries of project milestones
    Through these responsibilities, students will expand their practical skills, demonstrate their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, and build the confidence to contribute meaningfully to both social media management and broader marketing strategies.

    Training
    During this placement, interns will begin with a General Employer Orientation to familiarize them with company values, policies, and procedures. They will be paired with a dedicated mentor and have weekly one-on-one meetings to review progress, set targets, and provide personalized guidance. To gain hands-on experience, interns will participate in job shadowing, observing experienced team members managing real social media projects and marketing campaigns. Additionally, they will attend interactive workshops or skills training sessions focusing on topics such as content creation, analytics tools, and strategic planning. Throughout the internship, mentors will provide work samples and contextualize assigned tasks to ensure a clear understanding of objectives and best practices. Supplementary training literature—including readings on emerging social media trends and marketing case studies—will be provided, sometimes supplemented with brief, informal testing or quizzes to reinforce learning and measure comprehension.
