Job Summary:
Universal Phoenix Group, LLC is seeking a talented Illustrator / 2D Artist Intern to assist with visual content creation for comics, digital media, and promotional materials. This internship offers an opportunity to work alongside professional designers, contribute to creative projects, and gain industry experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality digital illustrations, character designs, and concept art for various projects.
- Assist in developing assets for visual storytelling, including storyboards and background art.
- Collaborate with creative directors and design teams to refine artwork based on feedback.
- Work with industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Clip Studio Paint.
- Participate in critique sessions to enhance artistic skills and industry knowledge.
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining a consistent art style and high-quality standards.
- Contribute to marketing and promotional materials as needed.
Requirements:
- Enrolled in or a recent graduate of an Art, Illustration, or related program.
- Strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in digital illustration and 2D art.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and other industry-standard tools.
- Passion for storytelling, character design, and digital media.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to take constructive feedback.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with animation or motion graphics is a plus.
- Interest in comics, gaming, or entertainment media.
- Understanding of composition, color theory, and digital painting techniques.

Tasks:
The student will perform the following duties:
1. Assist in the development of digital illustrations for Universal Phoenix Group’s visual media projects, including comics, promotional materials, and digital content.
2. Collaborate with the design and production team to refine concept art, character designs, and storyboarding.
3. Participate in meetings and feedback sessions to improve technical skills, creative execution, and professional workflow in a studio setting.
Training:
The student will receive training in the following areas:
1. Software proficiency in industry-standard programs (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Clip Studio Paint) through guided exercises and project-based learning.
2. Feedback and critique sessions with experienced artists and creative leads to refine technique and conceptual approach.
3. Professional development skills, including communication, time management, and understanding industry standards in illustration and publishing.
