Opportunity Summary 

Garden 31 is soliciting apprentices who are interested in getting internship credit while learning valuable skills and gaining experience in agriculture and land management- including skills related to farming, landscaping, resource management and agriculture consulting. Interns will hone regenerative farming techniques, develop sound business practices that will facilitate their success and be embedded in a community of support in the early stages of their venture.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Interns will learn about Bees and Apiculture, Propagation, Pruning, Soil management, Irrigation techniques, Accounting for farm management, Plant selection, Crop rotation, Microgreens, Farm Safety,  Land acquisition,  Business structure,  Tree planting, Product distribution, Site assessment and Farm design, Regenerative practices, and Composting.

Opportunity Training 

Students will be trained as they work side by side with experienced farmers.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students will sometimes need to lift heavy objects, they will need to wear close-toed shoes and sun protection.
