To ensure interns gain the necessary skills, I will provide hands-on training that immerses them in our high-performance environment. They will learn to effectively use technology such as Velocity-Based Training (VBT), timing gates, and Run Rockets, while assisting in coaching athletes and analyzing performance data. Interns will be trained on the fundamentals of strength and conditioning programming, including mobility drills, speed, plyometrics, and corrective exercises. They will also gain experience in developing personalized training strategies, managing training sessions, and communicating effectively with athletes. Alongside practical training, I will assign readings focused on coaching philosophies to deepen their understanding of our program approach and enhance their overall coaching abilities. By combining theoretical knowledge with real-world application, interns will be equipped with the tools and skills necessary to succeed in sports performance training.
Interns will be expected to safely load and unload barbells with plates up to 55 pounds and handle heavy dumbbells during training sessions. Proper lifting techniques will be emphasized to prevent injury when moving or adjusting equipment. Safety protocols for handling weights, including using spotters when necessary and ensuring equipment is securely positioned, will be strictly followed.
