Centered around talent discovery, audience engagement, content monetization, and brand marketing, Medelz empowers emerging artists through creative arts competitions. As a Marketing Intern at Medelz, you will play a hands-on role in executing the day-to-day marketing efforts that drive artist participation, fan engagement, and brand awareness across digital channels. You will be part of a fast-moving, startup-style environment where your input matters and your creativity can shine. Tasks:

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media & Content Marketing

Assist in planning and publishing social media content across different platforms

Create visual and written content (posts, stories, reels, graphics) to promote competitions, winners, and featured artists

Help build and maintain a consistent brand voice across platforms

2. Email & Community Campaigns

Draft engaging emails to keep users informed and excited about upcoming competitions, events, and platform updates

Support the design of newsletters, fan voting reminders, and artist spotlights

3. Digital Campaign Strategy & Execution

Support paid and organic marketing campaigns aimed at driving user acquisition and engagement

Assist in identifying marketing channels, partners, or influencers aligned with Medelz’s mission

4. Analytics & Reporting

Track key performance metrics such as follower growth, engagement rates, email open/click-through rates, and conversions

Prepare weekly or monthly reports to identify trends and suggest optimizations

5. Research & Trends

Conduct competitor analysis and stay updated on digital marketing and creative industry trends

Propose innovative content ideas or outreach opportunities based on research

6. Outreach & Partnerships

Support outreach to schools, student communities, creative organizations, and influencers

Assist with partnership proposals and communications to drive campaign collaborations

7. Event Promotion

Help plan and promote online showcases, competitions, and virtual community events

Engage with community members and ensure smooth communication before, during, and after events

Training:

To ensure a meaningful and educational experience, the student will receive a combination of structured training, ongoing mentorship, and hands-on learning opportunities throughout the internship. The training plan includes:

Initial Orientation (Mandatory):

An in-depth onboarding session will be conducted during the first week of the internship to introduce the student to Medelz’s mission, platform structure, marketing strategy, tools, communication workflows, and expectations. This session will also cover data confidentiality, team communication protocols, and project timelines.

Weekly One-on-One Mentor Meetings:
The intern will meet weekly with a designated mentor or supervisor to discuss progress, clarify tasks, receive feedback, and align goals. These sessions will serve as a platform for reflective learning, problem-solving, and professional development.

Task Contextualization & Guided Learning:
Each major task will be introduced with background context, clear objectives, and expected outcomes. Interns will receive guidance on best practices, audience targeting, brand voice, and marketing tools to ensure alignment with company standards.

Skills Training & Tools Walkthrough:
Training sessions and walkthroughs will be offered for the digital tools commonly used at Medelz, including social media platforms, content creation tools, email marketing platforms, CRM, and basic analytics platforms.

Collaborative Brainstorming and Feedback Loops:
Interns will be encouraged to contribute to team brainstorming sessions and campaign reviews, allowing them to learn through collaboration and iterative feedback.

This combination of orientation, mentorship, resources, and real-world application is designed to help the intern build both technical skills and strategic thinking in digital marketing within a creative industry context.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:

Develop and execute marketing strategies tailored to digital platforms by contributing to real-time campaigns that drive user acquisition, engagement, and brand visibility for a creative tech startup.

Create and manage multimedia content across various marketing channels (e.g., social media, email, website), demonstrating proficiency in brand storytelling, audience targeting, and consistent visual communication.

Analyze and interpret marketing analytics using tools such as Google Analytics, social media insights, and campaign metrics to assess performance and guide strategic decisions.

Collaborate effectively in a remote, startup environment, gaining experience in cross-functional teamwork, creative problem-solving, and project management in a fast-paced setting.

Engage in professional communication and outreach, including drafting marketing copy, managing community engagement, and supporting partnership and influencer outreach initiatives.
