Studio Volunteer - Community Arts & EmpowermentAt — Community Arts & Empowerment

Opportunity Summary

We make public art mosaics. Our service learning opportunity begins with an orientation to our processes from engaging with the community, identifying public art locations, choosing local art to translate into mosaics, the cutting and placing of tiles to create mosaics, and finally to mosaics tile installation.

We use a variety of materials from glass to locally made tiles to high-grade porcelain tiles. Most of the fabrication is completed by local teenagers, this will be an opportunity to become skilled at a trade-craft and then sharing your new skills with younger people.
