Opportunity Summary 

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Finance team as an Accounting and Financial Reporting Intern. This position will provide valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of accounting and financial reporting, including supporting the team in preparing journal entries for the month end accounting close process, assisting in the preparation of internal and external financial statements, assisting in the preparation of quarterly SEC documents, and participating in key projects related to GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

  • Assist in the preparation of complex and routine journal entries during month end close, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. 
  • Assist in the monthly reconciliation of accounts. 
  • Support the team in the preparation of both internal and external financial statements in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Learn and assist in the development and implementation of internal controls under SOX requirements. 
  • Contribute to the upkeep of documentation related to accounting and financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, and supporting both internal and external audit requests. 
  • Collaborate with the team on special projects, taking on assigned accounting work as directed. 
  • Explore opportunities for leveraging technology, robotic process automation, and data visualization integration to enhance overall operational effectiveness. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE: 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to a dynamic finance team. 
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. 
  • Eager and self-motivated individual with a curiosity for accounting and financial reporting. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
