Finance, Fundraising & Resource Development Team Purpose:
This team fuels the heart of Every Body Deserves Love by ensuring the organization has the financial resources it needs to thrive. Through grant writing, fundraising, donor stewardship, and merchandise development, this team turns generosity into impact and keeps EBDL’s programs sustainable and growing.
Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and funding partners

Develop, market, and sell self-love merchandise and resource tools, like journals and apparel

\ud83d\udd39 Fundraising & Grants Intern
Support the creation of fundraising campaigns, donor engagement emails, and giving appeals. Research potential grants, help draft proposals, and organize key documents and data for submission.
\ud83d\udd39 Sponsorship & Donor Relations Intern
Engage with businesses, community leaders, and individual supporters to secure sponsorships and donations. Help write thank-you letters, maintain donor databases, and assist with recognition and retention strategies.
\ud83d\udd39 Merchandise & Resource Development Intern
Help bring EBDL-branded products to life—from product concept and design to marketing and distribution. Support efforts to manage inventory, track orders, and develop digital marketing materials that encourage purchases or donations.
Tasks:
Student Duties – Finance, Fundraising & Resource Development Team (EBDL)
\u2728 Fundraising Strategy & Campaign Execution
Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, including themed giving drives, peer-to-peer fundraising, and donor challenges
Draft campaign content such as social media posts, emails, and fundraising letters
Create and maintain fundraising calendars, donation trackers, and progress reports
\u2728 Grant Research & Proposal Support
Identify and research potential grant opportunities that align with EBDL’s mission and programs
Assist in the development of grant proposals, including writing sections of narrative content, gathering required documents, and formatting for submission
Organize and maintain a shared folder system for grant tracking, deadlines, and submission history
\u2728 Donor & Sponsor Outreach
Draft and send professional communication (emails, letters, proposals) to potential sponsors and donors
Help manage a donor and sponsor contact list, using spreadsheets or CRM tools to track outreach and responses
Assist in writing thank-you letters, donation receipts, and impact updates to nurture donor relationships
\u2728 Merchandise & Resource Development
Contribute to the design and development of EBDL merchandise, including journals, apparel, stickers, and self-love tools
Support marketing and promotion of merchandise across digital platforms (e.g., website, Instagram, newsletters)
Track inventory, sales, and shipping logistics, and help identify opportunities to expand merchandise reach
\u2728 Financial Organization & Data Management
Maintain and update fundraising spreadsheets, merchandise sales reports, and donor logs
Support the creation of funding reports for team check-ins, board meetings, or grant applications
Ensure data accuracy, privacy, and professionalism in all financial and fundraising documentation
\u2728 Collaborative Planning & Cross-Team Support
Work with the Communications Team to align messaging for campaigns and donor outreach
Coordinate with the Events & Outreach Team to promote and sell merchandise at in-person events
Participate in weekly team meetings and mentor check-ins to report progress and receive guidance

1. General Orientation (Mandatory)
Overview of EBDL’s mission, values, and programs
Explanation of the Self-Love Leaders internship structure, expectations, and tools
Introduction to fundraising ethics, donor privacy, and nonprofit communication standards
2. Weekly One-on-One Mentor Check-Ins
Scheduled meetings with a supervisor or team lead to review progress, provide feedback, and support intern learning goals
Opportunity to reflect on challenges, develop confidence, and receive tailored coaching
3. Workshops & Skills Training
Interns will participate in the following hands-on learning sessions:
Intro to Grant Writing & Fundraising Strategy: Understanding the components of a grant proposal and how to align funding asks with organizational needs
Nonprofit Sponsorship & Donor Relations: Best practices for donor outreach, relationship-building, and stewardship
Fundraising Campaigns 101: How to plan and execute a giving campaign across digital platforms
Merchandise & Resource Sales for Impact: Training on pricing, budgeting, and managing mission-aligned product development
CRM & Tracking Tools Overview: Intro to tools like Google Sheets, Airtable, or CRM software for organizing donor, grant, and merchandise data
4. Work Samples & Templates
Students will receive examples of past successful grant proposals, sponsor letters, donation tracking sheets, and product mock-ups
EBDL will provide editable templates for writing proposals, creating donor thank-you emails, and tracking merchandise inventory
5. Overview & Contextualization of Assigned Tasks
Each task will be introduced with background context and learning objectives, so interns understand how their work connects to the organization's larger mission and funding strategy
Students are encouraged to ask questions and propose creative ideas to deepen engagement
