Opportunity Summary 

Volunteer will be assisting with day to day activities in the clinic. Activities may include cleaning, guiding patients through simple exercises, answering phone call, and assisting the PT Aides with tasks that need to be accomplished.

Tasks will include pulling exercise sheets, assisting patients with exercises, cleaning tables/rooms, filing, changing linens, and preparing modalities such as heat/ice.

Training:

Volunteer will initially shadow a PT aide and learn the tasks needed to be performed on a daily basis.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Student will be able to effectively communicate and demonstrate simple exercises to patients.
2. Student will be able to communicate effectively with clinicians and other staff to optimize patient care.
3. Student will be able to demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and respect to all patients of various backgrounds.
