Organization Description

Port of Sacramento Japanese School provides Japanese and American students with the best educational opportunity to become fully bilingual and bicultural in our increasingly global society. The school has served elementary and secondary school students living in the greater Sacramento for nearly four decades, and is one of the most distinguished school of this kind in the U.S. recognized by the Japanese Ministry of Education. The classes are held every Saturday at California State University at Sacramento (CSUS), and students are learning Japanese language, language arts, mathematics, Japanese history, World history, sciences, social sciences, physics, and biology in Japanese.

Program Information

Assist daily operation of the school, such as greeting students in the morning, monitor student activities, assisting teachers and staff, or any other tasks necessary for the school's operation. Students may be asked to help with translating/interpreting if they are proficient in English and Japanese languages.
