Programming InternAt — MUZEO Museum and Cultural Center

Opportunity Summary 

The programming intern will be responsible for assisting the organization in the development and implementation of educational programs, community events, guest services, gallery management, and community outreach.

Assist with gallery install and upkeep including keeping condition reports, hanging and handling art and using tools
Research and propose potential educational programs and community outreach opportunities
Assist in the creation of signs, circulars, mailers and other collateral materials
Make necessary changes to documents, keep records and logs
Provide support to social media efforts
May attend staff meetings
Assist with logistic planning and staffing public events
Manage the reception desk in the Historic Carnegie building

Training:

The programming intern will work in conjunction with curatorial, marketing and community outreach professionals and museum staff to assist with guest services, special events, educational programming, and outreach.

Learning Outcomes:

The programming intern will gain experience working in a small, established non-profit organization and exhibition/educational space.
Gain experience dealing with gallery operations, art handling, special marketing and events, and guest services.
Gain experience in brand management.
