Rehab InternAt — GLADSTONE SUBACUTE CARE AND REHABILITATION

The student will participate in patient care alongside our Occupational Therapist and Physical Therapist, gaining an understanding of each patient's individual rehabilitation needs and the specific type of rehab required. Additionally, the student will assist the Rehab Director by observing the evaluation process during patient admission, including communication with the Case Manager, scheduling appointments, and uploading patient documents to their medical chart.

Tasks:

Prior to starting independent responsibilities, interns will receive detailed guidance and rationale behind assigned tasks assisting in therapy, preparing equipment, documenting progress notes ensuring they understand the clinical context and goals.

Training:

training program designed to ensure competency, confidence, and meaningful engagement in clinical and administrative functions. The training includes the following components.
will receive an initial orientation covering organizational policies, HIPAA compliance, safety procedures, and an overview of the outpatient rehab facility's mission, services, and team structure.

Weekly One-on-One Mentor Meetings:
Each intern will be assigned a dedicated clinical mentor licensed physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech-language therapist who will meet weekly to provide feedback, discuss progress, review learning goals, and address any challenges.
will shadow licensed professionals during patient evaluations, therapy sessions, and interdisciplinary team meetings to gain firsthand experience of clinical decision-making and patient interaction in a real-world setting.
