Be part of a growing Data Analytics team at Symetra! This team acts as an internal consulting group to all business units in Symetra including Life Insurance, Retirement, and Benefits.\u202fOur data analytics interns work on a variety of\u202fprojects in areas such as data analysis and visualization, analytics engineering, and data science.\u202f

What you’ll do:\u202f 

• Build, test, and document data models using SQL and\u202fdbt\u202f 

• Turn insights into action and value\u202fusing data, business intelligence, and predictive analytics\u202f 

• Document, organize, and communicate thoughts and ideas effectively\u202f 

• Collaborate with\u202fteammates\u202fand partner with business units on projects\u202f 

• Engage in Symetra Data Analytics community and support creating Data Analytics best practices 

Tasks:

Training:

The intern will attend the general employer orientation, hosted by our Human Resources department, as well as an orientation specific to the internship program, hosted by me. They will receive training from their manager and other members of their team and will meet at least weekly with their manager, if not daily.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will have gained valuable experience in Data Analytics in the financial services and insurance industry. They will gain valuable and meaningful mentorship and advance their skills, while also preparing for their future career.
