Yes, we’re looking for interns for the 2025-2026 school year, and this year we’ll hire over 300, but not just anyone. If you’re just in need of hours towards licensing or trying to fulfill a university requirement, there are plenty of agencies that can offer you that minimum!

You’ll learn about our clinical supervision, training, and diverse caseload you’ll be working with. We’ll provide you the opportunity to work with children, families, and adolescents experiencing adjustment disorders, divorce, child abuse, blended families, academic, social, behavioral, and mental health issues. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to work with various licensed professionals in the mental health, medical, and educational communities, providing you the experience you’ll need in supporting your development towards whatever human service field you choose to enter.

Tasks:
Referral process, intake, and assessment issues. Clinical history, Soap notes, teacher/parent consultation, manage treatment records. Client evaluation, academic, social, emotional, behavioral issues, observation, intervention, parent consultation, referral and termination, child abuse, self-harm, suicide assessments, and referrals.
Training:
Our two days of training/ orientation prior to placement. Morning Zoom meeting with Regional Field Supervisors focused on issues germane to school-based counseling. Monthly email training with Dr. Swartz focused on areas useful in school-based counseling settings. Individual & group Clinical Supervision with a licensed Clinical Supervisor.
Learning Outcome:
1) Students will be able to develop client's clinical history
2) Students will be able to write and maintain case records of treatment.
3) Students will be able to assess and evaluate academic, behavioral, social, and emotional issues that impact student performance.
4) Students will be effective in identifying and utilizing intervention methods to impact client performance changes
