Opera San Jose

Organization Description

The mission of Opera San Jose is to produce emotionally thrilling entertainment that engages and reflects our diverse Silicon Valley community while developing the next generation of opera talent. As we move forward, we aim to see our community inspired and enriched by our programs, and the opera professionals we develop elevate the transformative power of the arts locally, nationally and internationally.

Health & Safety

We ask artists - which will now include University Participants - to be up to date on Covid vaccinations, and everyone should be doing their own health screenings, not coming in if they have a fever, bad cough, etc. Photography is taken of rehearsals and performances for archival, marketing purposes - there will always be 24 hours notice given. Video is taken of rehearsals and performances - again, for archival and marketing purposes - and 24 hours notice will always be given. Artists may opt out of either in rehearsals but not from the archival photo/video shoot that is made at the final dress rehearsal as that is a capture done of that full rehearsal for future in-house reference. Full time staff have all had background checks run during the hiring process. We have first aid kits around the building.
