Opportunity Summary 

The Social Media & Influencer Marketing Intern will support Rootinger’s digital marketing team in managing campaigns for F&B (food and beverage) clients, including restaurants and drink brands.This role involves hands-on participation in influencer identification and outreach, campaign briefing, content coordination, and post-campaign reporting. The intern will assist with social media calendar planning, trend spotting, and communication with creators and clients. Responsibilities include evaluating influencer profiles based on engagement data, drafting outreach messages, preparing visual and messaging guidelines, and following up on content delivery. The intern will also support content performance tracking and contribute creative ideas during team meetings and brainstorming sessions. Interns will gain practical experience in influencer marketing workflows, social platform strategy, brand tone development, and multi-client account coordination within the F&B industry.

Tasks:

- Evaluate influencer applications and make data-based judgments on brand fit
- Provide feedback on influencer selection, including reasoning for approval or decline
- Help develop and share influencer briefing documents and visual/content guidelines
- Learn how to politely decline or negotiate influencer participation and timelines
- Track content performance using platform analytics and summarize findings
- Collaborate with the content creation team by attending planning meetings and offering feedback
- Propose creative ideas for social media based on trend research and team discussion
- Participate in 1:1 weekly check-ins for real-time learning, feedback, and mentorship
- Use Slack to ask questions and receive guidance in real time

Training:

- The intern will receive structured onboarding to understand the brand’s voice, influencer strategy, and content standards.
- Ongoing guidance will be provided through weekly 1:1 mentorship meetings every Thursday, as well as real-time feedback via Slack.
The intern will receive individualized feedback on each influencer’s suitability, including detailed reasoning behind approval or decline decisions.
- They will be trained on how to assess influencers based on brand alignment, engagement metrics, and audience relevance.
- The supervisor will walk through how to deliver professional rejections, handle rescheduling, and maintain respectful communication.
- The intern will also be shown how to use social media analytics tools to extract and interpret campaign metrics.
- During weekly team meetings, the intern will participate in content review sessions, provide feedback, and contribute campaign ideas.
- This hands-on environment will help develop skills in cross-functional collaboration, especially with the content creation team.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the internship, the student will be able to:
- Identify and evaluate influencer profiles based on audience relevance, engagement rates, and brand fit
- Draft influencer outreach messages and build ongoing professional relationships
- Analyze and report social media campaign performance metrics
- Create content guidelines and visual references for influencer campaigns
- Understand how to identify trends and incorporate them into content planning
- Follow up with influencers post-campaign and track deliverables and outcomes
- Coordinate across platforms to ensure brand consistency in tone, style, and messaging
