Jewelry Assistant InternAt — Crystal Streets Alchemy
Applicants will facilitate and learn the fabrication process of various jewelry items from design inception to completion of the final piece. The Jewelry Assistant supports daily operations within the workshop, ensuring efficient service, product presentation, and customer satisfaction. This role involves a mix of customer service, administrative tasks, and support for sales and inventory management.
Tasks:
During the placement, the student Jewelry Assistant will support customer service by providing product information, assisting with sales, and handling inquiries professionally. They will be responsible for the safe handling, cleaning, and packaging of jewelry, as well as assisting with inventory management and visual merchandising. The student will operate the point-of-sale system, process transactions, and maintain accurate records. They will also participate in weekly mentorship meetings, apply feedback, and engage in learning activities to deepen their understanding of jewelry materials, retail operations, and industry practices.In addition to retail and customer service responsibilities, the student will gain exposure to the fabrication process of jewelry. This may include observing or assisting with basic tasks such as assembling components, soldering, polishing, and quality checking finished pieces under the supervision of a jeweler. Through this hands-on experience, students will develop an appreciation for the craftsmanship involved and deepen their understanding of materials, tools, and techniques used in jewelry production. This component supports the development of both technical skills and industry-specific knowledge.
Training:
To ensure students achieve their learning goals, the placement will include a structured training and support system that promotes both practical skill-building and industry understanding. During the placement, students will receive a comprehensive orientation covering workplace policies, safety, and expectations. Training includes job shadowing, hands-on skills development (e.g., jewelry handling, cleaning, and sales support), and weekly one-on-one mentorship meetings to review progress and provide feedback.
