Investment Research Analyst InternAt — Benefit Financial Services Group

The internship will provide you with hands-on experience in retirement plan consulting, investment research, and client reporting. In addition to shadowing and supporting the team of Investment Performance Analysts, you will train on tools and software used in the finance industry, including Morningstar Direct. You will also be included in check-ins with mutual fund management teams and assist in creating our quarterly investment reports.

Tasks:

Interns will support the team by assisting with quarterly performance reports, including data entry, attribution analysis, and formatting presentations. They’ll help organize client files, create summary one-pagers, and calculate plan-level cash flows. Additional tasks may include researching client opportunities, training on industry tools like MorningStar Direct, and shadowing meetings to better understand client service and investment processes.

Training:

Interns will begin with a structured onboarding program to get familiar with BFSG’s systems, tools, and reporting methodology. Throughout the internship, they’ll have weekly one-on-one meetings with a dedicated mentor to provide guidance, answer questions, and support professional development. Interns will also participate in job shadowing opportunities with analysts, consultants, and client service managers to gain exposure to different roles and workflows. Hands-on learning is emphasized through real work samples, including quarterly reports, market analysis, and internal research tasks.
