Intern At — The Bethesda Recovery Center
Choices in Recovery is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive drug and alcohol treatment services to a diverse clientele, including individuals impacted by the criminal justice system and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The organization offers a full continuum of care, including detoxification, residential, and outpatient programs for adults. Interns have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in both administrative and clinical aspects of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, as well as engage directly with clients through individual and group interventions.
Understanding of ASAM criteria, knowledge of treatment modalities, legal and ethical standards required for SUD professionals, evidence-based counseling techniques, case management, crisis intervention, appropriate documentation and reporting, cultural competency and sensitivity, and effective communication/interpersonal skills.
Motivational Interviewing training, first aid/cpr cert., law and ethics, sexual harassment, and Narcan training.
