PR and Marketing AssistantAt — Profusion Cosmetics
In this role, you will have the opportunity to rotate through various areas of the marketing department, gaining a broad understanding of different marketing functions. This will allow you to explore and identify the area that best aligns with your interests and strengths. Tasks:
SOCIAL MEDIA:
-Assist in planning, execution and tracking all social media marketing initiatives, including maintaining the content calendar, post tracking from start-to-finish, scheduling, and reporting. (Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok)
-Strategize overall social themes each month
-Oversee in-house content creation (photos)
-Create video content 2x/week , Schedule all postings, 2x/day
-Draft all copy for captions and hashtags
-Assist customer engagement, including comments, requests and DM
-Assist tags, collect and save UGC
-Create social media videos on weekly basis
-Save, organize and share videos to all required locations
-Assist in content management
-Social Media Calendar for Retailers
-Provide monthly social media reporting
INFLUENCERS:
-Research & recruit new influencers for PR samples
-Create PR orders through Tagger & Shopify, customizing creators
-Set up contracts for paid influencers and manage deliverables/payments
-Manage influencer relationships, managing permission for content usage
-Source product for PR shipment inserts
-Provide monthly influencer reporting
PR/PRESS:
-Create/build media list
-Research & outreach to editorials for features
-Draft press releases for new products & launches
-Send out PR mailers of new products/launches to the media
Shopify | Ecomm:
-Assist day-to-day operations of the Shopify store.
-Add, update, and organize product listings including images, descriptions, prices, and tags.
-Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers or internal teams for restocking.
-Create and manage promotional campaigns, discount codes, and product bundles.
-Troubleshoot and resolve front-end and back-end store issues.
-Collaborate with marketing and design teams to update banners, featured products, and content pages.
-Ensure optimal store performance, including page load speeds and mobile responsiveness.
-Set up and manage apps, plugins, and third-party integrations.
-Generate reports on sales performance, product analytics, and customer behavior.
-Maintain SEO best practices across product listings and content.
-Stay up-to-date with new Shopify features, updates, and industry trends.
Training:
-Orientation and Introduction: Provide an office tour and assist with workspace setup, including their email, computer, and relevant accounts. Have a meet-and-greet with team members, followed by a review of the current marketing strategy and previous campaigns.
-Job Shadowing: Shadow a senior team member to observe a live project or campaign discussion. This includes our email marketing software, social media scheduling tools, and analytics platforms.
-Assigned Tasks: Begin reviewing social media channels, recent posts, and email newsletters. Assist in proofreading or drafting a simple piece of content. Eventually, transition to independent ownership of key responsibilities.
-Meetings & Reflection: One-on-one meeting with the manager to discuss the experiences. Q&A session to clarify any doubts or challenges faced. Outline personal goals based on observations and discussions.
-We will focus on areas for growth based on initial performance and interests.
Learning Outcome:
-Develop and execute social media strategies, including content creation, scheduling, caption writing, and community engagement across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
-Plan and manage influencer marketing campaigns, from sourcing and outreach to handling PR orders, contracts, and performance tracking.
-Support public relations efforts by building media lists, writing press releases, and coordinating PR mailers for product launches.
-Understand e-commerce operations on Shopify, including product management, promotional setup, store optimization, and analytics.
-Collaborate with teams to maintaining calendars, reports, and content systems.
