Office AssistantAt — Law Office of Rick Cohen
The Law Offices of Fredrick S. Cohen seeks and entry-level Office Administrative Assistant.
Location & Schedule:
- On site
- Our office is open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm
- Full-time preferred but willing to discuss part-time opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to two paralegals and an associate attorney.
- Coordinate scheduling of court reporters and other court services.
- Filing court documents.
- Prepare closed client's files for record keeping and file pick-up.
- Assist file clerk with in-office filing.
- Assist receptionist with telephone calls and client intake.
- Other duties consistent with an admin. assistant.
Qualifications:
- This is an entry-level position.
- Previous administrative assistant experience especially in a law office is preferred but not required.

About our Firm:
We are a team of five-six people consisting of 2 attorneys, 2 paralegals, and a receptionist/file clerk. The firm practices family law (divorce, custody, parentage, support, property, etc.). We are a close-knit group of dedicated people who value working as a team.

Tasks:
Ordering court reporters after having drafted and successfully scanned the paperwork needed.
Filing, scanning, and organizing the client papers for correspondence and attorney notes to give all files to the client at the end of the case.
Receptionist duties, scheduling consultations, meetings, and other receptionist duties
filing papers as they come into the office from the court into the correct pleadings files.
Training:
Monthly client meetings with staff to ensure we meet due dates for paper filing
one on one mentoring with both paralegals on all clerical and admin work with previous files to be used as examples.
Learning Outcome:
-file, serve, and receive court ordered and requested documents
-draft and file documents for ADA accommodations, court reporters, and remote requests for multiple counties.
