Opportunity Summary 

The Emergency Services Intern will assist in the Emergency Managment Office by helping in programs to establish emergency protocols and resources to be used internally and externally.

Tasks:

Tasks will include improving internal/external resources, set up of the Emergency Operations Center to policy standards, and assist in community and internal meetings regarding emergency management.

Training:

Training available to the student includes general employer orientation, weekly mentor meetings with the Emergency Services Manager, CalOES online courses on emergency management, and assigned tasks.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to understand the CalOES structure, the National Incident Management System, and be able to react in an emergency situation especially as a municipal representative.
